The second edition of the ADBanking Newsletter. Two delivered projects and a core release.
Umurimo Finance Plc: many branch databases, now one
On 20 June 2026 we completed the migration of Umurimo Finance Plc from separate per-branch databases to a single centralised one.
This is the kind of work that sounds like plumbing and decides everything downstream. Separate branch databases mean the same member can exist twice, a figure can be true in one branch and wrong at head office, and every consolidated report is a reconciliation exercise before it is a report.
What the consolidation delivers:
- One source of truth. Data silos are gone and a figure means the same thing in every branch.
- Simpler administration. Maintenance and support run against one database rather than one per branch.
- Faster, more accurate reporting. Consolidated reporting no longer waits on merging exports.
- Room to grow. The centralised architecture is built for branches that do not exist yet.
The migration was done through careful planning, rigorous testing and close work between the technical and business teams on both sides, with data integrity maintained throughout. Our thanks to the Umurimo Finance team.
Mobile lending live at COOPEC COMICOKA
During June 2026 we completed the mobile lending integration for COOPEC COMICOKA. Members can now apply for eligible loans from their phones.
- Loan applications from a mobile device, without a branch visit
- Automated workflows, so turnaround times drop
- Less manual handling in loan management
- Access to credit for members in remote areas, where the branch was the bottleneck
For a cooperative whose members are spread across a district, the branch visit was never a small cost — it was a working day. Removing it from the loan application is the point of the project.
Our thanks to the management and staff of COOPEC COMICOKA for their collaboration throughout the implementation.
ADBanking core: RPM 3.28.0
We have released RPM version 3.28.0 of the ADBanking core banking system. It includes:
- Improved system stability and overall performance
- Faster processing for day-to-day banking operations
- Security enhancements protecting customer data and system integrity
- Functional improvements across key banking modules
- Fixes for identified issues, and customer-requested improvements
- Greater reliability in reporting, reconciliation and transaction processing
We encourage every institution running ADBanking to plan its upgrade to RPM 3.28.0. Our implementation and support teams are available to help through the process.
Every release is shaped by customer feedback. Our thanks to the clients and partners whose input continues to direct where the core goes next.
