This is the first edition of the ADBanking Newsletter. Three things to report: an expansion into Malawi, two rounds of ADBanking training for institutions across Rwanda, and a new office.
Expansion to Malawi
Between 11 and 13 May 2026, ADFinance presented its Digital Banking Platform to MFI Hub stakeholders in Blantyre and Lilongwe.
Through this project we will provide a multi-tenant digital banking platform for microfinance institutions and SACCOs in Malawi, covering:
- USSD banking
- Web banking
- Internet banking
A multi-tenant platform matters here. It means an institution does not need its own infrastructure to put digital channels in front of its members — the smallest SACCO on the platform gets the same channels as the largest.
We thank MFI Hub and all the stakeholders who gave their time and feedback during the discussions. Their recommendations are already shaping what we build.
Capacity building through ADBanking training
We ran two ADBanking core banking system training sessions for users from microfinance institutions across Rwanda.
IT users
The first brought together participants from 12 microfinance institutions, and covered:
- System configuration
- Reporting
- Deployment
- Security controls
- Troubleshooting
- Business intelligence tools
Finance and operations
The second was for accountants, finance managers, directors of finance and administration, and end users. It focused on:
- Daily system operations
- Data accuracy and reporting
- Loan portfolio management
- Transaction management
- System security and compliance
Both sessions combined practical demonstrations, hands-on exercises and discussion led by ADFinance trainers.
Feedback was 83.6% satisfaction from the IT cohort and 84.1% from the finance and accounting cohort. What participants asked for next is as useful as the scores: more refresher training, longer sessions, user discussion groups, continuous updates on new features, and more support both on site and online. We are planning against that list rather than repeating the same two days.
A new office
ADFinance Rwanda Ltd has moved. Our new office is at Kimihurura, KG 28 Avenue, N° 55 — more room for a growing team, and a better place to receive the institutions we work with.
You are welcome to visit.
